A convertible collar coat by Japanese brand NUKE, the label designed by Tatsuro Horikawa which later became cult brand JULIUS. The khaki brown fabric, of unknown composition, is slightly reminiscent of a sateen, soft and crisp and with a slight sheen. The coat has a buttoned front placket which ends in a two way, convertible point collar, and buttoned tabs at the cuffs which allow the width of the sleeve to be adjusted. There are three front pockets, with two large flapped pockets near the hem and a smaller, vertical zip pocket running parallel to the placket. Wearing the coat open reveals zip teeth on both sides that have been intentionally cut half way down so as to render them non functional (there is no zipper), creating the impression that the coat originally had a zip closure as well. Likewise, the hem has been left unfinished and allowed to fray.

The coat is lined in a beautiful, soft black cotton, and has an extremely large, elaborate garment label made from a mottled fray fabric. In addition to detailed instructions in both Japanese and English, the label features the slogan “Nuke Heavy Industries - You Must Be Industrialised” and appears to depict an altered image of Mao Tse-Tung.
